I practice and teach
Dog Friendly Training. As it turns out, it is also people friendly.
Dog Friendly Training depends on willing participants.
When properly done the learner becomes a partner. The training keeps the focus on teaching a dog what to do rather than what
not to do.
The methods used are not coercive. The goals are set close together. I do not condone methods or equipment
that intimidate, frighten, punish, or inflict pain or suffering on the animal.
My goal is to teach owners how
to get their dogs to pay attention. I do this by creating a fear-free learning environment for both owners and their dogs.
Every task is explained then demonstrated with and without the dog. Next the owner has the opportunity to practice
the task and receive coaching on technique. This way the owner has three ways to learn. In addition, I will provide printed
instructions for each step.
Since I value all of my client’s questions and concerns all teaching is tailored to
the individual. Every lesson is designed to build on previous learning.
Practical, simple and effective.
